What should I bring to my first gymnastics class?

For your first gymnastics class, just bring comfortable athletic wear (leggings or shorts and a fitted top) and a water bottle. Kids train barefoot on the mats and equipment, so no shoes needed.

Important: Make sure your clothes have no buttons or zippers, hair should be tied back (preferably without hair clips), and make sure your child's feet are clean.

We provide all the equipment and mats, so you don't need to bring anything else.

What should I bring to my first BJJ class?

For your first class, just bring comfortable workout clothes (t-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms) and a water bottle. Train barefoot on the mats, so no shoes needed.

Important: Make sure your clothes have no buttons or zippers, remove all piercings, and clip your nails (both fingers and toes). This is for everyone's safety on the mats.

If you decide to continue, you'll eventually need a gi (kimono), but don't buy one until you're sure you want to commit. We have gis in stock at the academy, so you can buy one from us when you're ready.

For beginners, we recommend starting with 2 classes per week. This gives you enough time to learn techniques while allowing your body to recover.

As you get more experienced and conditioned, you can train more frequently. Many of our members on the Unlimited plan (€95/month) train 3-5 times per week.

Consistency is more important than volume. Training twice a week consistently beats training loads for one month then burning out.

Is BJJ safe? Will I get injured?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the safest martial arts because it focuses on controlled grappling rather than striking. Injuries can happen in any sport, but they're rare in BJJ when proper technique and respect are practiced.
