10 Medals at the First Ever IBJJF European No-Gi Kids Championships

What a weekend in Dublin for Studio Galera.

The first ever IBJJF European No-Gi Kids Championships brought together young grapplers from across the continent, and our team from Bandon, West Cork showed up ready. Eleven kids from our BJJ kids program made the trip with their families, and what they achieved was remarkable.

The Results

Our team returned from Dublin with an impressive medal haul: three gold medals and seven silver medals across different age groups and weight categories. Ten medals from eleven competitors represents a 91% podium finish rate - a testament to the quality of training and dedication our young athletes bring to the mats every day.

History in the Making

This was the inaugural IBJJF European No-Gi Kids Championships, and our athletes got to be part of something special. While most of our kids have competed at European championships before, those tournaments meant flights and hotels on the continent. Having this championship in Dublin - though still a three-hour drive from Bandon - meant families could make the trip without the expense and logistics of international travel.

The competition was fierce, and the level was high. But our team handled it. Every single one of them stepped on those mats and competed with heart. Some won their divisions, some came close, but all of them represented Studio Galera with the attitude and spirit we try to instill in training every day.

Competitions like this don't happen without incredible support. Massive thanks to all the parents who made the journey to Dublin, spent the weekend in a loud sports hall, and cheered our team on from the sidelines. Your support means everything to these young athletes.
