We Won Best Academy Overall at Grappling Series 2025

We did it. Studio Galera in Bandon, West Cork took home Best Academy Overall at the Grappling Series 2025.

After competing at all four Grappling Series competitions in Cork throughout the year, our team finished first place overall and took home the €1,000 prize.

Competing Close to Home

Having four competitions right here in Cork made a huge difference for our students. Previously, anyone wanting to compete had to travel to Dublin or outside the country entirely. The Grappling Series changed that, making it possible for more of our athletes to test themselves in tournament settings without the time and expense of traveling far from home.

We had both kids and adults competing throughout the year, with a lot of students stepping on the mats for the first time. Some won, some lost, but everyone learned something about themselves and their jiu-jitsu. The convenience of competing locally meant more athletes could step up and challenge themselves.

Competition Philosophy

We don't force any of our students to compete - that's not what we're about. But for those who want to test their skills, challenge themselves under pressure, and see where they stand, competition is an incredible tool for growth.
